The Ruby Princess

The Ruby Princess is one of the 17 cruise ships operated by Princess Cruise Lines.  It went into service in 2008 and was refurbished in 2011.  It has a gross registered tonnage of 113,561 tons, is 948 feet or 289 meters long and 188 feet or 36 meters wide.  It has a maximum crew of 1200 and can carry up to 3599 passengers.  The currency used on board is US dollars.

Here are some pictures of the ship's exterior, decks and interior spaces.  According to Vacationstogo.com, it has 452 inside cabins, 1105 outside cabins, and 881 suites.

It has a giant movie screen outside, but it was a tad cold on this sailing to watch anything outside at night. Although there were a few hardy souls that did during the cruise.  They ate their free popcorn while laying on the deck chairs, all bundled up in their parkas.

There are four pools on the ship, one of them heated.

At the front of the ship is an adults only area called the Santuary.  It costs $20 dollars for a half day stay and $40 for a full day stay.  Misterpiggy got to hang out for free.

This is the central piazza.

And this was misterpiggy's favourite hangout, the International Cafe.  It was open 24 hours and featured ever changing and excellent pastries, donuts and sandwiches.

Also at the front of the ship, is the fitness center and spa.  Never used by misterpiggy.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are always available in the Horizon court buffet.

And this is one of the three dining rooms on the ship.

Popcorn!
