Southampton and Sea Day

After an eight hour direct Air Canada flight, misterpiggy landed in London Heathrow airport at about 9 am London time. Shuttle service to Southampton was purchased in advance with Princess.  They had quite a number of staff waiting at Heathrow's arrival hall, ready to assist cruise passengers.  It wasn't until 10:30 am when boarding of the bus began, then followed by an hour and one half bus ride to Southampton.  There wasn't much to see along the way as the motorway was walled in by foliage on both sides.

It was cloudy and warm in Southampton.  Looked like a quaint little city from the bus windows.  A number of old ruins dotted the streets.

Queued up at the pier for registration and security inspection, so it was almost two o'clock before misterpiggy could unpack and rest in his assigned cabin.  First seating dinner service started at six pm.

Took in the comedy show after dinner, and the next day the Ruby Princess set sail for Norway.   During the sea day, misterpiggy explored the Ruby Princess, listened to guitar virtuoso Ron Steta and the quartet of young ladies known as the Thalia Strings.
