Mount Floien in Bergen

One could see the lineups forming almost immediately for the Mount Floien funicular.  As it turns out there were two lines, one for tour groups and the other for independent visitors.

Although it looked discouraging, the lineup from the ticket booth to the funicular boarding area moved fairly well and misterpiggy was on his way up the 6 minute ride to the top of Mount Floien.  It is possible to hike up to the top of Mount Floien.  The staff advised that it takes about one hour to walk up, and about 45 minutes to come back down.  It is something that had misterpiggy considered, in the event the lines did not move.

Once at the top, there were excellent views.  Here's how the park and fountain where the shuttle dropped misterpiggy off  looked from up above.

One could also see the triangular building that consisted of the tourist information office and the seafood market stalls are also visible.

With a clear day and blue skies, Bergen city looked very beautiful amongst the rolling hills.  Look, there's the Ruby Princess.

The Mount Floein website can be found at http://www.floibanen.com/.  The funicular costs 85 Norwegian Krone for a round trip visit.
